In 1970 The Willamette Valley Concert Band was created in Albany, Oregon USA. Seven to eight concerts a year are performed by its fifty to sixty musicians ranging in age from teenagers to senior citizens and living in the center of the Willamette Valley in Benton, Linn, Marion and Polk Counties.

Dr. Richard Sorenson directs the band with the assistance of Associate Director, Christine Barreto, a St. Edwards Catholic Church Music Director and retired Lebanon, Oregon music teacher.
