Mike Bevington

Conductor and Artistic Director

Our Conductor, MIKE BEVINGTON, is a retired band director from Jefferson HS and MS in Jefferson.  During his tenure at Jefferson the HS band won 1st place in the state band championships four times: 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007. Upon his retirement in 2007, Mike became adjunct professor of trombone at WOU and OSU. Mike earned his BS in Music Ed from OCE {WOU} in 1977 and MMEd from UO in 1983. He is an Oregon Band Directors Association/ OSAA Certified Band Adjudicator. Mike is a member of Phi Beta Mu International Schools Bandmasters Fraternity and MENC. He is also active as a jazz musician and trombone instructor in the Albany/ Salem area. His wife, Susan, is a retired music teacher. They have two children: Erin {Albany} and Joel {Seattle}.


Mike Rogers

Assistant Conductor

Assistant Conductor, J. MICHAEL ROGERS earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees at Appalachian State University where he also served as a graduate teaching assistant. He was an instructor at Atlantic Christian College and music professor at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C. for 29 years where he taught a wide variety of music classes as well as serving as band director. He completed his teaching years as band and choral director at Highland School of Technology, an arts magnet school in Gaston County, N.C. He retired to Albany several years ago where he lives with his wife and daughter. He has played clarinet and keyboard with WVCB for several years.
